Our school has been celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day all week with various activities in the classrooms, a traditional dancing presentation by the members of the Isadore family from Driftpile Cree Nation on Wednesday and a Bannock Burger lunch on Thursday.
Our school was visited by the multi-talented Manitoba artists TiBert et Douzie! These French Métis Canadians shared vivid stories, played traditional francophone instruments with a fun modern twist, and even taught some jigging and other traditional dancing. So much fun was had!
