Provincial Curriculum Development Engagement Sessions
Provincial Curriculum Development Engagement Session: An Opportunity for CollaborativeConversations
It is an exciting time in our province as Alberta Education begins work toward developing a student-centered provincial curriculum that will enrich students’ lives and prepare them for careers in an ever changing global landscape. Alberta’s K-12 Provincial Curriculum Development Process includes three key phases: Shaping, Developing and Implementing. As part of the Shaping Phase, Alberta Education is providing opportunity for reflective feedback in Face to Face Collaborative Conversations hosted by Consortium staff. These sessions related to the direction of future curriculum and the strengths and areas for improvement in current curriculum. Active engagement is sought in Face to Face sessions from all partners, including First Nations, Métis, Inuit and Francophone stakeholders to allow for an informed response to the Curriculum Survey.
The NRLC is providing Face to Face Curriculum Engagement sessions through information sharing and collaborative conversations in a variety of settings and for a range of stakeholders. Register for the session that is designed to meet your needs.
This evening information and engagement session is designed to provide parents, students, and business/community partners with an overview of Alberta’s Curriculum Development Process and provide an introduction to the Online Provincial Needs Assessment Survey. Participants will engage in facilitated collaborative conversation regarding the strengths and gaps in current curriculum around chosen subject areas and division levels and have an opportunity to provide direct feedback to Alberta Education through the online Curriculum Survey.
